Depending on your water table level at your home. Sump Pumps are pre-set at certain water level points. A float switch sets off the sump pump to engage at this point the sump pump will begin to re-route the water into a storm drain or outdoor area.

There are two types of sump pumps. Pedestal and Submersible. Pedestal sump pumps are mounted above the sump pump pit providing easy access for service and testing. Submersible sump pumps sit in a well or pit.
